Financial Services sector

  • FNS04 Continuous Improvement

ALA Pty Ltd working on behalf of Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) has prepared a Discussion Paper, Quality Analysis of the FNS04 Financial Services Training Package as part of IBSA’s continuous improvement strategy for Training Packages under its coverage. IBSA expects to have a final report publicly available by the end of November 2006. more

  • Financial Literacy competencies added to Training Package

IBSA has developed a number of competency standards from the nationally endorsed Financial Services Training Package (FNS04).This component of the Financial Services Training Package is now available along with new resources. more


Property Services sector

  • Asset Security Training Package Under Redevelopment

The Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) is redeveloping the Asset Security Training Package (PRS03). Nine Biometrics units of competency will be included as an extension to the training package. more

The Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) is nearing the end of the redevelopment of a number of sectors in PRD01 Property Development and Management Training Package. more

  • Disability Access Consulting

The Access Consulting competency and qualifications have now been endorsed. more

  • Free Training Resources for the Industry 

The Department of Education Science & Technology has funded the development of resources to support the implementation of the Certificate III in Security Operations. more

  • Depleting Substances (ODS) & Synthetic Greenhouse Gasses (SGG) Competency Development Project

The Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) is working with Fire Protection Association Australia on a project to develop units of competency to cover ozone depleting substances (ODS) and synthetic greenhouse gases (SGG) used in the fire protection industry. more

  • Oil Drop Off

The Department of Environment and Heritage (DEH) has commissioned more than 700 oil drop off stations to be installed in transfer stations across Australia.  In response to the Department’s concerns about the adequacy of training for both operatives and managers of these facilities, the Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) was contracted to undertake a scoping study of the skills required and any changes that may be required to the Asset Maintenance National Training Package. more 


Business Services sector

  • Continuous Improvement of TAA04

Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) as part of an ongoing project has developed a TAA04 enhancements paper which summarises the key themes which emerged from previous feedback regarding the proposed enhancements discussion paper and proposes a way forward. The paper will be circulated widely to seek further comment, before a package of enhancements is submitted to the National Quality Council for consideration as part of the continuous improvement process. more

  • BSB01 Business Services Training Package Review
    Closing date for feedback has been extended

The BSB01 Business Services Training Package Review began in November 2005 and is scheduled for completion in February 2007 (an extension of two month has been approved to give stakeholders more time to have their say). Currently in Stage 2, the review involves the development or redevelopment of units, skill sets and qualifications identified in Stage 1 of the project. more

  • Manager 2020

Innovation & Business Skills Australia (IBSA) commissioned The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to undertake a study into how the role of Australia’s senior managers is likely to change between now and 2020, and to identify the skills and attributes that will be needed to respond to those changes. This report is now available and is titled 2020 Vision, The Manager of the 21st Century. more

  • Support staff skills across education

IBSA has commenced a project to scope the skills needed for the training needs of administrative support staff in the education industry. more

  • International Education Support Staff skills

This project addresses the skills needs of the workforce who manage and administer the international education sector in higher education, vocational training and education, English language and preparatory programs and schools. more

  • Employability Skills

    In accordance with the National Quality Council (NQC) decision that Employability Skills must be embedded within Training Packages and must be explicit enough to enable them to be delivered, assessed and reported. Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) has conducted a project to identify and integrate Employability Skills in all IBSA units of competency and qualifications. Employability Skills must be included within nationally recognised Training Package units of competency, and in qualifications and skill sets—to ensure they are considered in training and assessment. more
