The BSISB in partnership with the Australian Central Credit Union (ACCU).

Globally, nationally and locally the finance sector has had significant retrenchments and redundancies and is expected to continue to shed staff both in response to the current economic climate and as a result of mergers and the corresponding critical reviews of staffing and operations.

Australian Central Credit Union Ltd and Financial Solutions Australia Pty. Ltd (ACCU) is a wholly South Australian based financial services provider that is seeking to distinguish itself in the sector and the South Australian market, as a workforce planning leader and “no redundancies policy” organization.

ACCU will work with the Business Services Industry Skills Board SA Inc. (BSISB) to identify their current and emerging workforce needs and the skills profiles of their existing staff, so as to identify how they might retrain and cross-skill workers who would otherwise be retrenched, to meet the organizations’ current and emerging job roles.

The enterprise based model will entail using the finance sector resources and tools already developed to ;

  • Assist ACCU to Identify the redundant roles/skills sets in the organisation and the individuals in those roles.
  • Identify any required current and emerging organisational roles and skills requirements.
  • Map the projected skills requirements of current and projected roles to VET qualifications.
  • Map the skills requirements of the redundant roles/individuals to the projected skills requirements and VET qualifications.
  • Identify the gaps in skills/gaps in qualification competencies/gaps in qualifications.
  • Train/retrain existing employees for new roles and “realign” the existing employees to these.
  • Train & provide work experience in the job role that potentially matches their skills.
  •  Provide ongoing coaching and support to workers to apply and be successful in job advertisements and/or increase their capability in recently assigned role.

The SA Government has provided funding support for the pilot through the SA Works, Industry Partnership Program
